FAQ

Q:   The code number is in the database - is this product genuine?
A:   It is most likely that the product is genuine - the security device incorporates high tech anti-counterfeiting technology and each has a unique number for verification.

Q:   The code number is not in the database - is the product counterfeit?
A:   It is most likely that the product is counterfeit and you should make your own assessment as to purchasing the product - or you can choose another product and check its code number for authenticity.

Q:   What if the code number is genuine but not in the database?
A:   Code numbers are entered into the database after they are allocated to the licensee/brand owner and this may be up to 7 days after they have been despatched. In the normal course of business these numbers are unlikely to be available in a retail situation before this. Check back after a few more days.

Q:   What should I do if the number is not registered and I suspect the merchandise is counterfeit?
A:   You should complete the request for your contact details on the VerifyThisNow screen and then note the name and location of the premises, the product suspected and any other details that would assist an investigator. You will be e-mailed instructions with a request for these details.

Q:   I have details of counterfeit products but do not have any code numbers to put into the system - what do I do?
A:   You can visit the VerifyThisNow website and access the Counterfeit Hot Mail page to enter details on what you know so that an investigator can follow up.
